Set in an Idyllic village in the heart of Phuket, surrounded by greenery and a freshwater lake, lies an International school with a difference. Oak Meadow International has easy road access, virtually no traffic around or near the school, was founded on the following beliefs:
We believe that all children deserve an education regardless of their family’s financial standing. We aim to achieve our goals by good financial management and a stable pricing system. Where our parents can be rest assured that price fluctuations are not part of our school policy.
We believe that religion and political beliefs play no part in our curriculum, school management or school ethos. Students are taught tolerance, understanding, respect for oneself and others as well as parents and teachers. Discipline and routine go hand in hand with our belief that some systems disregarded by many still have a part to play in what kind of citizens our students will become one day. Pride in one’s school, a good work ethic and a willingness to contribute to society are all traits that we would like to instill, while maintaining a nurturing, caring and loving environment.
We believe in a strong curriculum that not only caters for the individual but also ensures that teachers spend more one on one time with students. As all lesson plans are provided and step by step instructions are given, teachers no longer need to spend hours attending to administrational duties or lesson preparation. In order to reflect the best education pedagogy, Calvert regularly reviews all courses and introduces new materials after considering state standards and the standards established by the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), National Council for Teachers of English(NCTE), National Council for Teachers of Social Studies(NCSS), National Science Teachers Association(NSTA) and the International society for Technology in education(ISTE)
